The Sacred Rest Retreat is a four-day, three-night immersive retreat and ceremonial container held by Native Women’s Wellness Movement. This retreat is intentionally designed as a space for deep rest, nervous system regulation, reflection, and visioning.
The retreat is facilitated by the NWWM planning committee and lead facilitator Ghylian Bell, and guided by Indigenous frameworks that honor rest, presence, and relational care.
Retreat Intention
The Sacred Rest Retreat invites participants into a state of receiving. Together, we slow down, soften the body, and attune the nervous system toward a rest-and-digest state. From this grounded place, participants are supported in processing past experiences, reconnecting with the heart, and holding vision for the life they are called to live.
This retreat is rooted in the understanding that rest is not passive—it is restorative, clarifying, and deeply healing.
What to Expect
The retreat weaves together guided facilitation and spaciousness. Participants will experience:
Facilitated sessions for learning, reflection, and self-exploration
Time for deep introspection, rest, and integration
Practices that support nervous system regulation and embodied awareness
Opportunities to reconnect with the physical body, emotional landscape, and spiritual self
Within this container, participants are held with care, presence, and intention alongside a community of women walking similar paths of leadership and self-inquiry.
Indigenous Framework & Healing Approach
The Sacred Rest Retreat is guided by Indigenous perspectives on wellness, healing, and relational responsibility. Participants will explore tools for self-exploration that engage the body, heart, and spirit—honoring the spiritual dimension of the human experience as inseparable from physical and emotional well-being.
This retreat aligns with the four pillars of Native Women’s Wellness Movement:
Inner Peace through rest, regulation, and presence
Nourishment through care, spaciousness, and embodied support
Healthy Relationships through shared experience and community holding
Purpose through visioning, reflection, and legacy-centered inquiry
Who This Retreat Is For
The 2026 Sacred Rest Retreat is being intentionally curated for leaders—those who hold responsibility in their families, organizations, and communities and are seeking space to rest, recalibrate, and reconnect with themselves.
This retreat is for women who feel called to pause, receive, and remember that rest is essential to sustainable leadership and generational wellness.
